  • The Vow of the Rainbow-The Atayal Textile

    Textile weaving is an invaluable cultural heritage of the Atayal community. Through weaving, Atayal women preserve their identity and collective memory for posterity. This exhibition covers different regional Atayal groups, including their craft of weaving and textile patterns. Through the understanding that weaving is a culturally significant part of the Atayal life, the show will provide you a glimpse of their view of the world.

  • The symphony of fabric

    Amongst the Taiwanese indigenous communities, the Atayal people are known for their weaving skills. Their traditional costumes are mostly woven with ramie, then interwoven with colored wool or with shell decoration. The costumes includes top, vest, kerchief, skirt and headdress. Colors vary from region to region.

  • Guided Tours

    The Lin Family Mansion and Gardens is listed as national heritage. It is the most intact among the traditional gardens in Taiwan. Its loggia, ponds and buildings retain their original charm and look. Our dedicated volunteer team provide four guided tours per day, with an extra session available on public holidays. Japanese and English tours can be booked in advance.

  • Through the Lens of a Master- Classic Paintings in Action

    Mi l l e t , the well-known nineteenth-century French artist, has dedicated his work to the depiction of peasant’s activities and country life. This exhibition incorporates realistic settings, animation projections and augmented reality (AR) technology, displaying the artist’s deep love for his country in his artworks.

  • To My Dear Martian Anthropologists: The 2020 New Taipei City Contemporary Art Thematic Exhibition

    Fifteen local and international artists are invited to leave behind some simple ‘hints’ in the exhibition. These ordinary objects are connected with the online augmented reality experience (AR), overturning the viewers’ habit. These contemporary artists are ready to stir up everyone’s curiosity, including the Martians.
