  • 2019 New Taipei City Graduation Exhibition – A Threshold toward Something Greater

    “N e w T a i p e iCity GraduationE x h i b i t i o n - AThreshold towardSomething Greater ” i s i n t o w n o n c e again! This grandgraduation arts expo,staged in six of NewTaipei City’s majorcultural institutions,represents a group effort of our aspiring artists under the auspices ofthe Citys Cultural Bureau. This year’s program encompasses thirtythreedazzling exhibitions and one performing arts show. The artists willmesmerize you with their vibrant creativity, and color your summer withtheir youthful energy.
    Participants this year hail from twenty-four academic programs of eleveninstitutions. Their works will be respectively exhibited in the followingfive museums and galleries. They are: New Taipei City Art Center, NewTaipei City Yong'an Arts Center, FZ 15 New Taipei City DocumentaryCinema, Banqiao 435 Art Zone, Tamsui Plaza, and Xinzhuang Culture andArts Center. The shows will cover fine arts pieces, traditional ink paintingsand calligraphy, crafts, culpture, multimedia and anything in between.The climate in the showrooms is that of a confluence of creativity, madepossible by the aspiring artists. It promises to be an artistic spectacle and asource of inspiration you don’t want to miss.

  • The Future of Sci-Fi: Mitsuki Nakamura Retrospective Exhibition

    Mitsuki Nakamura (1944-2011), who dedicated himself to the art of animation for more than four decades,was the soul of Japanese anime in the 1970s and 80s. A firstclass animator, Nakamura was the designated working partner of both Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hayao Miyazaki, and served as artistic director for almost one hundred animation films, such as “Mobile Suit Gundam” and “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.” Following the retrospective exhibition in Denmark in 2017, this retrospective in Taiwan will present the original sketches and manuscripts of several of Nakamura’s masterpiece, including “Mobile Suit Gundam,” “Space Ace” and “Mahha GoGoGo.”

  • Children’s Day DIY Programs

    Venue The Lin Family Mansion and Garden

    On Children’s Day in April 4, the Lin Family Mansions and Gardens will host a series of experiential programs in traditional arts and crafts. In three consecutive days, our “copper sculpture,” “dough figurine” and “hands-on” DIY activities will guide both children and adults to make copper bracelets and small tam-tams, to
    learn from traditional knowledge and bring retro toys back to live. You can make your own stylish figurine, andto experience the pleasure of patchwork by piecing various fabrics, one by one, into a unique piece of product. Onsite registration will be open during the days of programs and we are looking forward to a joyful Children’s Day with you!

    CAR→Take Heping West Rd. Sec. 3 in Taipei, over Huajiang Bridge and proceed along Wenhua Rd., turn righton Minquan Rd., then make a left turn. The Garden is next to the Banqiao Second Stodium.

    BUS→Take bus number 264,307,310,701,702 and alight at Lin Family Mansion and Garden stop to reach Banqiao’s Lin Family Mansion and Garden.

    MRT→Take Banqiao Line (Blue line) to Fuzhong MRT Station, and leave by Exit 1. The Garden is an 8-minute walk from the station.

  • Capturing the Spring Plum-Plum Pickling Event

    Venue New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum

    “Capturing the Spring Plum- Plum Picking Event” celebrates its eighteenth year, making it one of the most historic events of New Taipei City. In 2019, the event will be held from March 29 to May 5. The design of plum urn, which captures much attention each year, will be officially launched in early March, the month in which information on website, including early bird ticket and concession prices, will be made available. Please check the Ceramics Museum website and Facebook page regularly for updates.

  • Collaborating in Shihsan- Children’s Day Program Series

    During the Children’s Day holidays, the Shihsanhang Museum welcomes visitors of all ages to participate in our “Collaborating in Shihsan” program. Children can enjoy role-play as little archaeologists, and to overcome various hurdles with help from the museum staff. Those who succeed will be rewarded with a secret gift and a little archaeologist honorary certificate. Also, you can choose to attend three other DIY experiential activities during the day, all of them will be loads of fun. They are “Underwater Jelly Candles,” “Deadman’s Secret Chest,” and “Joyous Melody.” This is an opportunity not to be missed!
