  • Hi!Sea-An Exhibition of Island Cultures in East Asia

    Being surrounded by water, Taiwan possesses rich and diverse marine culture. In the end of June, 2018, Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology will launch “Hi!Sea-An Exhibition of Island Cultures in East Asia.”This exhibition, with a focus on archaeology, introduces Oceanic culture of Taiwan and Riukyu, Kyushu and Honchu islands in Japan. The exhibiton features collection, specimen and materials from eight Taiwanese and Japanese museums, all of which are representative of Eastern Asian marine environment and communities living in the region. It presents the vibrant marine and Islander cultures of Eastern Asian region, and displays ancient fishing tools, boat models, maritime trading objects and artistic objects that features their folklore and traditional arts.

  • 2018 New Taipei City International Metal Crafts Competition Exhibition

    Venue Jinshuei Special Exhibition Hall & Gold Refining Building

    The final round of the “2018 New Taipei City International Metal Crafts Competition” had taken place on April 28. The panel has awarded the prizes to sixteen Jewelry and seventeen Object entries. This year, we have received 210 entries from 22 countries in Asia, Europe, America and Oceania. Taiwanese artists have taken home numerous awards, earning gold, silver and bronze medals in both Jewelry and Object categories. It is a testament to the abundant creative energy of the young Taiwanese metal artists.

  • Truth, Beauty and Goodness- RGB Photographic Exhibition

    The exhibition consists of works produced by the photographers during their travels here in the country and overseas. The photographers delivers their epiphany inspired by the truth, beauty and goodness created by God Almighty through these carefully crafted images. All of them contain an object, subject, light and shadows, interactions and a thirst for life. These works bear witness to the power of Love, the miracles and of God’s blessings, through which we share and support one another. Landscape of Czech, northern Vietnam, Bhutan, Hokkaido in Japan, Egypt, Nepal and Angkor Wat stimulated these wonderful photographic creation, and guide us to see the truth, extraordinary beauty and goodness.

  • The Great Tea Alchemists : Craftsmanship of Tea Production in Taiwan

    Combining digital interactive technology, this exhibition introduces the spirit and craftsmanship of Taiwanese tea makers. It focuses on the continuum of the techniques of tea-making as well as a Taiwanese industrial cluster. By revisiting historical tea factories and interviewing the master tea makers we hereby collect and record the precious heritage and innovations of the maestros. Systematically this exhibition aims to track the historical accumulation of Taiwanese tea-making craft.

  • Artistic Imagination and the World— Fashion Image and Aesthetic Exhibition

    This exhibition is a collaboration between the Taiwan Creative Industry and Professional Training Association, and teaching staff from Taipei University of Marine Technology. Fourteen teachers from the nine tertiary institutions across Taiwan have been invited to participate. The show demonstrates the expertise and teaching result of each instructor, as its ultimate goal is to further promote the cultural heritage and lifestyle of Tamsui. A variety of artworks will be exhibited, which include two-dimensional design, half-dimensional composition, multi-media, fashion design, graphic design and flower arrangement, to name a few. Our extraordinary visual feast awaits you!
