    One thing that makes Taiwan so rivetingly beautiful, is that it’s tolerant, inclusive, free and accepting. As we speak, more than 650,000 people in this island have obtained their Taiwanese citizenship and ID through marriage and other arrangements. These new migrants’ culture and live experience has enriched Taiwan, and their textual remembrances will be an indelible part of the Taiwanese literature.This year, the Bureau of Cultural Affairs of New Taipei City Government has launched the “2018 New Taipei City New Migrants Literary Award.” Prize money is totaled at NT$285,000. The Bureau would like to invite all the new migrants and their children who have been - or are currently working, living and studying - in New Taipei City to participate in the event. Through creative writing and photography, we want you to document your “New Taipei Experience” and write your own history and leave your mark!

  • Animation X Experimental—International Experimental Animation Exhibition

    Venue New Taipei City Fuzhong 15 Animation and Story Gallery / Exhibition Spaces on the 3-4F

    The title, “Experiment,” suggests the exploration into the unknown and the persistence and determination for continued trial and error. Through brand new techniques, narrative methods and plot structure, the animators have created a unique artistic style yet unseen in the contemporary mainstream animation. In this exhibition, visitors will be able to glimpse into the origin and artistic development of “experimental animation,” and its evolution and use of materials in the digital era. The latest AR technology allows visitors to try out cutting-edge animation techniques, to experience the various elements of experimental animation, and the creativity that involved through the clash between the East and West. Imaginative possibility in experimental animation is boundless and awaits your exploration.

  • Piecing your Creativity Together- Patchwork DIY

    Circular, square, hexagonal… all of them are simple shape to start with. But flavored with your imagination and juxtapose them , you would be able to make beautiful yet fashionable works. The Lin’s Family Mansion and Garden has once again invited the popular Ms. Jiu- Ming Bao to enjoy patchworking with aspiring artists. For beginners, Ms. Bao will guide you with sewing basics, to progress forward until you can achieve the final product. Course fee are NTD 150 per person, a maximum of 25 participants for the July 10 workshop; NTD 100 per person, and a maximum of 30 participants for the July 14 workshop. Participants could piece their creativity together from 2pm to 4 pm at Ding-Jing Hall. This is a great program for those who enjoy working with their hands.

    CAR→Take Heping West Rd. Sec. 3 in Taipei, over Huajiang Bridge and proceed along Wenhua Rd., turn right on Minquan Rd., then make a left turn. The Garden is next to the Banqiao Second Stodium.
    BUS→Take bus number 264,307,310,701,702 and alight at Lin Family Mansion and Garden stop to reach Banqiao’s Lin Family Mansion and Garden.
    MRT→Take Banqiao Line (Blue line) to Fuzhong MRT Station, and leave by Exit 1. The Garden is an 8-minute walk from the station.

    Curating an international exhibition is a grand project that requires a high level of forward-planning and organization skills. Visitors tend to see the immaculate exhibition spaces only, but do you ever wonder what the site looks like when the work is still in progress? The Yingge Ceramics Museum has now created something special in “Work in Progress. Coming Soon! 2018 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale.” In addition making the exhibition curation process public, the Museum has also organized four special spaces, including “I am the prettiest,” “Guess who I am?” “Family’s Hands-on Zone” and “Ceramic Arts, live!” These areas will enable visitors to view how museum professionals unload, photograph and document objects in real life.
    New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum
    CAR→Exit Sanying Interchange on National Highway No. 3, pass over Sanying Bridge (in the Yingge direction), and proceed along Wenhua Rd. to public parking lot.
    BUS→Take Taipei Bus No. 702, No. 917, No. 851, No. 981; or take a Taoyuan Bus Co.bus to Yingge.
    TRAIN→Take a commuter train to Yingge train station, the museum is a 10-minute walk from the Wenhua Rd. exit.
