  • Tea Schoolhouse - Digital Interactive Exploration Space

    Venue Pinglin Tea Museum of New Taipei City

    Along with advanced educational technology, combining AR and VR designs, this exhibition celebrates the theme of the world-famous Chinese classic book, i.e., “Tea Classic ” , by the renowned tea master of Tang Dynasty of China, Lu Yu around 1300 years ago. With comprehensive and entertaining animation and interactive facilities, we would like to invite all visitors to experience the tea-making processes from a typical tea farmer’s producing processes : harvesting, stirring, rolling, roasting, etc., all required process to make their own version of tea. Through the “physical 5 senses” educational activities, the Tea Museum aims to attract as many children and youngsters as possible to know more about tea as a daily drink in depth and embrace tea-making culture.

    CAR→From Xindian or Yilan, take Provincial Highway No. 9, then take the Taipei-Yilan Highway or National Freeway No. 5 to reach the Museum.From Jingmei, take County Highway No. 106 past Muzha, Shenkeng, and Shiding. Continue onto County Highway No. 106B. Exit for Kuolai and continue onto the Industrial Road towards Pinglin.
    MRT→Take the MRT to Xindian Station. Transfer onto the Xindian Bus Service, and take the 923 or Green 12 (G12). Get off at the stop for Pinglin Junior High School. The Museum is a 5-minute walk away.

  • 2018 New Taipei City Christmasland

    Citizen’s Square, Zhanqian Square, Wanping Park and the surrounding area
    The“2018 New Taipei City Christmasland”has been transformed into a fascinating planet-scape! Combining fantasy and sci-fi techniques, Santa Bear will become an astronaut and take you on a spaceship to travel through the space. This year, Citizen’s Square, Zhanqian Park and Wanping park will be adorned with colorful lightings as usual. Moreover, the Christmasland will be extend to the MRT Banqiao Station and the vibrant Fuzhong business district. In collaboration with Jen Lewin, the famous light artist from New York, New Taipei City will install “The Pool” in Citizen’s Square, which will create a wide range of overlapping images and light effects created by stomping, running and jumping visitors. “Fantasy Planet,“ an interactive light installation developed by the German lighting system MADRIX and the sliver LED light, will stage an audio-visual light show every thirty and sixty minutes from 17:30 November 17.
    This year, the highly-acclaimed “New Taipei City projection mapping Light Sculpture Show” will for the first time, adding by 900 RGB LED flash light tubes on the upper level walkway of the Citizen’s Square. The light tubes, the same kind as the ones used in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, are controlled by the latest MADRIX lighting program. Each tube, which is able to flash up to 256 different colors, will create a whole new great New Taipei City projection mapping light scuplpture show. With the iconic New Taipei City Christmas tree, the entire light show will occupy up to 7,737 m2 of space in total and take the whole world’s breath away!
    Another feature of this year is the four different mesmerizing tunnels built with four different colors of lights. The program will run from November 16 to January 01, 2019. The forty-seven-day festival will bring to you excellent activities including Kids’ Carnival, Christmas Market, Superstar Concerts, and Dating in Christmas. We invite you to be part of the greatest Christmas event in Taiwan!

  • Behind the Silver Screen – A Special Exhibition on Taiwanese Virtuoso Filmmakers

    Master craftsmen are those who dedicate their entire professional life to the perfection of a single art from. Filmmaking is one such skill that requires wholehearted commitment behind the silver screen. As part of its seventh-year anniversary program, the FZ15 Animation and Story Gallery has launched the “Behind the Silver Screen: A Special Exhibition on Taiwanese Virtuoso Filmmakers.” The Exhibition will showcase artefacts and objects relating to the filmmakers, and the recreation of film studio setting. We invite all cinema aficionados and avid moviegoers to visit us, and pay homage to our master filmmakers.

  • Peace and Prosperity – Nien Hua DIY

    Nien Hua printing, which has an enduring presence in the traditional Chinese art histor , began as simple painting on the timber block, and gradually evolved into the versatile and colorful art form that we know today. Its all-encompassing themes cover from flora and fauna, objects that represent luck and prosperity, to simple and elegant patterns. A new nien hua in the Spring Festival represents the farewell to the past, and a new, better beginning tomorrow. We have invited Nien Hua master Wong Zhen-tai to take us through the process of making one’s very own lucky Nien hua.

    CAR→Take Heping West Rd. Sec. 3 in Taipei, over Huajiang Bridge and proceed along Wenhua Rd., turn right on Minquan Rd., then make a left turn. The Garden is next to the Banqiao Second Stodium.
    BUS→Take bus number 264,307,310,701,702 and alight at Lin Family Mansion and Garden stop to reach Banqiao’s Lin Family Mansion and Garden.
    MRT→Take Banqiao Line (Blue line) to Fuzhong MRT Station, and leave by Exit 1. The Garden is an 8-minute walk from the station.

  • 2018 Taiwan International Ceramics Biennale

    One of the four largest ceramics biennales in the world, the Taiwan Ceramics Biennale is curated by a Taiwanese for the first time in 2018. The curator is the internationally renowned ceramic artist Shao Ting-ju. Featured are 43 artists from ten nations: Taiwan, the US, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Belgium and China. Their 80 artworks explore the links between creativity and the changing times. Taiwanese pioneers in the art community are joined by expert ceramists from abroad. We have also gathered some interesting loans from other major Asian museums. This year’s events are more engaging and appealing than ever.

    TRAIN→Take a commuter train to Yingge train station, the museum is a 10-minute walk from the Wenhua Rd. exit.
