  • Animation X Experimental - International Experimental Animation Exhibition

    The title, “Experiment,” suggests the exploration into the unknown and the persistence and determination for continued trial and error. Through brand new techniques, narrative methods and plot structure, the animators have created a unique artistic style yet unseen in the contemporary mainstream animation. In this exhibition, visitors will be able to glimpse into the origin and artistic development of “experimental animation,” and its evolution and use of materials in the digital era. The latest AR technology allows visitors to try out cutting-edge animation techniques, to experience the various elements of experimental animation, and the creativity that involved through the clash between the East and West. Imaginative possibility in experimental animation is boundless and awaits your exploration.

  • The Concert for Aspiring Musicians 2

    In a move to promote musical arts and encourage greater exposure for local performance groups, the management of the Lin Mansion and Family Gardens is pleased to announce the collaboration with the Banquiao Senior High School Traditional Music Group and Xing Qiao Chinese Music Group. The School is close to the Gardens. Most of the participating students, though just beginners, are fully dedicated to traditional music. Xing Qiao, which means “to kindle” in Chinese, suggests that members of the group aim to kindle and spread the love of musical arts within the community. This month, the Gardens will be transformed into a stage just for the students. These budding musicians will be able to showcase the fruit of their training, and continue their musical journey to carry on the legacy. See these youth performers in action and give them the recognition they deserve.

  • 2018 IAC National Exhibition-Ceramics Generations-Exploring Taiwan Contemporary Ceramics

    Ceramic art in Taiwan embraced the modern art concept later than painting and sculpturing did. The conventional perception of ceramics and high technical requirement for production made the field more difficult to entry and explore. In recent years, in the context of diversified development of ceramic art as the global trend, the development of various forms of ceramics presentation, e.g. ceramics sculpturing, conceptual ceramic art, combination of multiple media, and new media art, could also be observed in Taiwan. The exhibition will display different generations of ceramic artworks, inviting viewers to explore the different dimensions of local ceramics.

  • 2018 International Archeology Day- Watch Out, You’ve Got a Dig Next to You!

    The third Saturday in October every year is designated the “International Archeology Day.” Archeological associations, college departments and museums across the world would host lively events to engage the general public, and encourage them to learn about Archeology. This year, New Taipei City Shihsanhang Myseum of Archeology presents “Watch Out, You’ve Got a Dig Next to You!” Through archeological site inspections in the Bali District, participants will be able to understand the connection between these sites and modern life, and the cultural development of the District. Participants will also be learning some simple assessment methods for sites with archeological potential.
